They are designed to be directly applicable to your workplace or business strategy.

Networking

Our SFPs provide great opportunities for you to network with professional peers and business contacts which can prove useful to you and to your company.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION IN BUSINESS ANALYTICS (PreBA)

Background

The revolution in the availability of data is changing the practice of business and management. Increasingly, organizations are recognizing the role of data in gaining insights and out-thinking competitors. Data-enabled organizations tend to outperform those that are not. A study shows that “the more companies characterized themselves as data-driven, the better they performed on objective measures of financial and operational results.” The financial sector is leading the way. Local banks? have formed their analytics teams, mostly report to top management. This explains the growing demand for talents who have analytical skills and can make or help make informed decisions that can drive organizational success (UA&P, 2018).

The UA&P started to offer the Master In Applied Business Analytics (MABA) program in 2018. Three scenarios that were considered by MABA at the time of its conception – jobs to be transformed by digital technologies, lack of analytics talent, and companies becoming data-driven as articulated above. These scenarios, among others, also present the same opportunity for UA&P School of Management to offer a counterpart non-degree Professional Education in Business Analytics  PrEBA)

Coverage and Learning Outcomes

The program covers short and long certificate courses, seminars, and other related capacity-building activities that promote the stakeholder-participants’ contribution in realizing the following learning outcomes for their respective organizations:

  1. Create value from data to address the real needs of the people that the organizations serve. Making data-driven decisions requires business analytics. For organizations, it is critical to have true appreciation of and a compelling drive to build and nurture a business that is grounded on data as a strategic asset, on analytical tools and processes as enablers of a data culture, and on the people whose diverse skills will bring about a well-thought-out, ethical strategy for the people it serves.
  2. Apply business analytics to address real business problems of the organization’s key stakeholders. It starts with making sense of your business and structuring your organization for today’s challenges. We will (re)set your business direction and (re)articulate your reason for being. We will then delve into the necessary but oftentimes overlooked aspects of business ethics, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability. With these in place, we will then look into how business analytics will create more value for the people you serve.
  3. Evolve the business by building a data-driven culture across the organization. Business analytics will only create value if the entire organization contributes to its success. While the business analytics strategy starts from the top, the analytics journey of an organization should be embraced by all business functions. We will take a look at how Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Information Technology can establish their own analytics strategy that supports the company’s overall drive to being data-driven for the people.
